Hackathon Idea Kielce took place on 15-16 June at Centrum Kongresowym Targi Kielce. During the two-day programming marathon, more than forty teams worked on building an application to improve quality of life in Kielce. The solutions they developed concerned urban space, security, mobility, and communication. The participants were able to take advantage of databases made available by Kielce City Council. In addition, the teams were supported throughout the hackathon by mentors – specialists in the field of new technologies, smart city and business – who helped the teams to perfect their applications.

Onwelo supported the event by becoming one of its partners. As a part of this relationship, Janusz Dreziński and Bartosz Sądel attended as mentors and put their knowledge and experience at the disposal of participants.

The most original and interesting solutions developed during the hackathon were rewarded with prizes of a combined value of PLN 10,000. The event’s organisers have announced that the solutions will be implemented and made available to the citizens of Kielce.
