Our first Devs Crew meetup

The Devs Crew, a group of web-application coding enthusiasts from Kielce, has met for the first time. We organised the first meetup at the Bohomass Lab. More than seventy people attended to hear our speakers, Marcin Witecki and Bartek Sądel!

Marcin’s presentation compared the old version of ECMA 5 with the new version, ECMA 6, as well as with TypeScript. He showed the audience the capabilities and shortcuts that are available in the new version of the language and how similar problems have been resolved in TypeScript. By comparing frequently-used mechanisms in all three standards, it was easy to see not only their differences, but also the features they have in common.

Bartek talked about the latest version of the JUnit library (available for less than two months) used for unit testing in Java. He discussed in detail the new architecture and the mechanisms introduced, which greatly simplify the work of programmers.

When the presentations had finished, it was time for conversations, discussions and generally getting to know each other better. We are delighted that the event drew such a broad response and enabled such a large group of web-application coding enthusiasts to gather in Kielce. Thank you for attending and you are already cordially invited to the next meetups, which we will tell you about as soon as the arrangements are made.

See you there!
